“Ladies, I’ll take 8 Salted Caramel Monkey Breads Please”

Meet James & Chelsey

“Ladies… I’ll take 8 Salted Caramel Monkey Breads” said the big guy. Loud voice, missing a tooth, very polite.
Presley replied, “Why don’t you make it 10?” I was putting away sourdough loaves in the back corner of the bakery,
crouched down, bottom rack, and said quietly to myself “Sell it girl, sell it.” I THOUGHT I said it quietly, but the big guy said
“Did I just hear someone say sell it girl, sell it?” He immediately laughed so loud. I got up from the back
and looked at him like a deer in headlights. We laughed again and boom -- friends. Ladies and gentlemen,
meet James Jernberg - owner of Fiternal CrossFit in Stevens Point.

Before I ‘knew knew’ James, I was for reaaallll hiding in the corner like oh here comes that guy… knowing he was going to be like
“HEY. I LOVE THIS STUFF, but what I REALLLLLLY love is dirt cake. And sticky caramel buns! I just love everything about dirt cake.
You make dirt cake?” Again, with some SERIOUS intense vocals, as he paced the pastry counter, back and forth.
We would all look at each other and you could see it in our eyes -- umm… we don’t… really.. make dirt cake here…?
His intensity would come across as a bit intimidating, and slightly scary to me, BUT to him,
it was pure passion. It all makes sense now. It allllllll makes sense.

James & his lovely wife Chelsey are such great supporters of MGB! When we didn’t know Chelsey,
we would sometimes describe her as the ‘that drop dead gorgeous girl with the disney princess hair.’
Do you know who I’m talking about now? I’m sure you do. She’s the sweetest, obsessed with our cream cheese frosting,
& has the best outfits. Then along came the little noodle babe, and now they are a family of three!

Not only do I love the Jernberg family, but I also love Fiternal. Yeah, the workouts are intense, but they change people’s lives.
THEY CHANGE LIVES. I’m not kidding. This passion that I’m referring to? It comes straight from James.
You want to be there when he’s there. You want him to be your coach. You want to work out with him. He motivates you,
he teaches you, and he supports you. The yelling? PEOPLE! That’s straight up passion & love for what he’s doing for a living.
It’s so obvious. He cares. Even if it’s baked goods. He cares SO much about The Main Grain Bakery, that he’s yelling when he’s in there!
He pushes people. He motivates them and changes their lives.

I stopped going to CrossFit about a year ago. I thought I was “too busy.” Well guess what? That ain’t true.
I knew I should be there - I knew I was missing out, but I told myself “running around the bakery was enough exercise.”
Nope - not gonnnnna work SJ. CrossFit mentally & physically drains you in a good way, making you feel like
you can conquer the world afterwards. My first class back to Fiternal was in March. The next day, I felt this rush of confidence.
Going off topic, but still relevant... I got my dog to walk nicely on a leash. Like right next to me - right by my side.
I know that means nothing to all of you, but I’ve been working with my dog for 2 years trying to perfect this,
and I give it all to CrossFit, no joke. (I also give much credit to a dog training company ‘Rufftrails’ in Madison,
but that’s for another time - ha!). Working out. It changes you, calms you, organizes your brain, gives you confidence,
makes you stronger inside & out. Maybe I’m obsessing, but James & Chelsey have something going on, and you need to be a part of it.

I can’t go into the details of the WOD (Workout of the Day), or what a Metcon actually means, or how the word
‘burpee’ and ‘deadlifts’ came to be, but what I can say is that Fiternal CrossFit is a huge asset to this community.
They host special events, kids programs, personal training, nutrition, yoga, and so much more. If you’ve made it this far,
and you’re still reading, check out there website! If you do, stop in the bakery and let us know you’ve successfully
read this novel of a newsletter and we will give you a $2 discount on any purchase this week!
(Expires Sunday 5/12) Bonus points if you sign up for CrossFit (just bonus points).
Did you know your first workout is FREE?? FOR REALZ.

James & Chels -- keep up the good work. Keep inspiring, empowering, mentoring,
& motivating the Stevens Point community with what ya’ll are doing.

PS : It’s often that I’ll do my best Jerns voice at the bakery “Ladies..” Just ask my staff : )
